I saw this and had to laugh, as it is a good explanation for why Akamatsu-sensei decided to just drop Negima! like he did.
*lol* Seriously, if you were a guy, married to her, and she said, “You need to spend more time with me,” wouldn’t you? ^_~
Anyway, the countdown is on, with the final chapter getting a single, extra page from what I’m told. Here’s hoping for a decent end of some kind, though I’m hearing a lot of fans now calling Akamatsu-sensei, “CLAMP 2.0.” *lol* Yes, some of us haven’t gotten over xxxHOLiC‘s ending. ^_^;
😀
More seriously, though, he’s taken “breaks for research” before. If it was just that, he’d just take another one.
Maybe he just got bored with the series. I’ve seen that happen with other authors, and it’s usually better that they end the series than let it turn into contractually mandated garbage. Negima is by far his longest work to this point, and it’s probably hard to keep a storyline going that long.
I think the riggers of a weekly manga series is partially the cause of Akamatsu-sensei ending the manga, combined with his exclusive contract with Kodansha ending.
BTW, those breaks were just to allow him to keep his publishing schedule. As we’ve seen recently, even that hasn’t given him enough time to prevent some chapters from being reduced to 15-pages, vs. 17 or 18.
So THAT’S the real reason why Akamatsu-sensei is dropping Negima. Not that I blame him.
Good grief if this was the case, all he needed to do was find a way of changing the releases from once a week to once a month.
YOU. CANNOT. SURVIVE. THIS.
😀
So that’s why Akamatsu ending Negima because his wife wants him to spend more time with her than working on Negima every Wednesday?
JUST LOL IT! xD
Prays that this NEVER happens to One Piece’s Oda Eichiro (in case you don’t know, One Piece is to me what Negima is to you). He too has a hot wife that tends to cosplay as his characters.
How old is Oda-sensei? Akamatsu-sensei is 42, so he doesn’t handle the pressures of getting a weekly manga out as well. The body needs more time to rest, you know. ^_~
I doubt it will. Hasn’t Oda deliberately pro-longed the story past a prior set ending point, several times? I remember reading that somewhere.
Yeah, I would stop if I have a wife like that
Oh god, bad memories.
…the egg…the egg…the egg…
It’s like a war veteran’s flashback.
I bet sensei has her cosplay as Naru =D
No doubt. She and he did a magazine shoot where she cosplayed a maid with him as “goshujinsama.” ^_^
Gah. Forgot the link.

That’s awesome. That last pic was pretty cute
Is it bad that I started shouting at my computer screen saying, “DIVORCE THAT WOMAN!!!!!!!!!”???
No??
*lol* Its bad. ^_~
Yup, shes cute. I would have definitely have listened to her too. Shame it had to affect the fans. I still think it should have got a monthly release though. Surely there would have been no harm in this?
Well, we still don’t know what the future holds yet.
Couldn’t tell if this is true of not. Is there a source confiming this or is this just some inside meme I dont know about =/.
Also 353 is out, and the direction is nicer but you cant help but feel you were getting trolled from the last chapter xD
Its just a meme as far as I know. However, I do think there is some truth behind it though since women do tend to want more of their man’s free time.
Given the crazy schedules of mangakas, she would have cracked long ago if she was bothered by this. (strange idea to marry a mangaka, then 😉 )
Am i the only one who thinks the manga has reached a stage when the story couldn’t continue at the same frenzied pace of previous volumes, hence its end?
Well, I would say that people have different tolerance levels. I keep hearing rumors that they have a child now, which if true, would be something that would push her into wanting him to be home more often, to say nothing of him probably wanting to spend more time with his family.
>Am i the only one who thinks the manga has reached a stage when the story couldn’t continue at the same frenzied pace of previous volumes, hence its end?
Well, I see where you are coming from, but I don’t think that was it. The frenzied pace of meeting deadlines, yes. The frenzied pace of the story, no. If Akamatsu-sensei were to shift Negima to a bi-weekly thing, then I think he’d have little problem continuing as normal.
“I’m hearing a lot of fans now calling Akamatsu-sensei, “CLAMP 2.0.” *lol* Yes, some of us haven’t gotten over xxxHOLiC‘s”
you’re logic make no sense at all. 🤔🤨😐😑😒😑.
Haha! Well, at least Akamatsu-sensei ended Negima, even if it was rushed and unsatisfactory. CLAMP, on the other hand, are the hiatus masters. How many unfinished series are in their wake?
